Ebb Tide
The sea. The beach where I ran with him. Those days when everything was beautiful. Now, I walk alone along the shore filled with memories. The sound of the waves gently embraces the loneliness of being by myself… Like Farewell, First Love, this film portrays the end of a young woman’s romance without dialogue, relying instead on the protagonist’s memories and music to tell the story. Featuring location shooting by the sea (most likely Enoshima), the film is rendered throughout in subdued, muted tones that beautifully enhance its melancholy atmosphere.
